- They don't quite have a physical form! They're all on a computer system that's locked safely away (out of players' destruction range). However, they can control robots that can have a physical presence in the city.

- Yes, all native AIs should have had a previous function. This ties into the previous question as well, because AIs will be limited in the type of robots they can control. (The main AI controls dozens; lesser AIs would probably just have one, of a specific type, like your architect or hospital worker).

- There's a points system to buy fancy things, like in EC but on an individual basis. It's gonna be pretty loose and people can pool their points and stuff, so no rankings or competitions.

Also, there will be a way for game participation to not be voluntary if the AI happens to be a big enough dick to implement it. (Basically, everybody gets implants that lets them remotely access the VR).
